Mother Mother

Jodi Day

In 2017, when my son was an infant, I left my design job in New York, and our family moved to Los Angeles. By the time he turned one, I was beyond burnt out from putting this little person above my own needs day after day. I began a new self-care routine and it changed my life.

I looked for a shop that had all the essentials for the complex care of mothers. From compression socks and perineum care to non-toxic skincare. I didn’t find what I was looking for, so I set off to create it.

I talked with dozens of mothers to discover their self-care must-haves and Mother Mother was born.

We focus on multi-purpose products and essentials and strive for elevated design and sustainable packaging at an accessible price point.

Ending racial disparities in the birth space.

We donate 20% of our Postpartum Recovery Bundle sales directly to Black doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, and organizations that are helping end the Black maternal heath crisis.

Why is this important? Black women are three to four times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy-related causes. These outcomes are the result of the bias of medical providers, structural racism, and economic inequality. We believe that supporting current and future Black birth workers is essential to change this.⠀
