It’s all about imagination and exploration with Mountain Buggy’s latest limited edition fashion range for 2010 – Night in the Menagerie.

Keeping with its urban cool appeal for fashionista parents around the world, our creative designer Rowan Falconer, took to the limited edition project by designing and creating a tantalising visual feast that captivates the child and the parent without compromising the buggy’s stylish aesthetics on the street.

“Mountain Buggy has a strong fashion heritage, especially in Europe, and we were frequently getting asked when we were going to release the next limited edition.” says Denby Hartgill (brand manager), “Our objective was to create an exclusive collection for those stylish parents who wish for a refined exterior, yet want their child to be immersed with an enchanting and engaging design whilst cocooned in the buggy.”

The result is a glorious array of exotic animals living in a fantastical world, “The original visual inspiration came from the 1851 great exhibition at the Crystal Palace. We evolved this into a classic Victorian menagerie theme with a modern contemporary twist.” explains Falconer, “It truly was a fine balancing act to design a piece that gave justice to parent, child and buggy. But I feel that with careful restrain and the artful eye of our textile designer Bonnie Stephenson-Wright, the application of this fabric set on the buggy and accessories has given the justice the range deserves.”

It was during this design process that the poem book* was introduced, with local Wellington musician Tony Wilson narrating the Menagerie story in a way that gave a new dimension to a 2d story, capturing the essence of the illustrations and bringing the brilliant animals to life. This created a seamless verbal / visual relationship to the design, making the connection between the art work and poem much deeper and more meaningful between parent and child. The limited edition range is sold as a bundle that includes the urban jungle buggy, carrycot and sleeping bag in all three colourways – dusk, midnight and eclipse. The MSRP is $749.97 and is sold exclusively in select stores around the USA.

	Great stroller
	Love the MB urban jungle stroller. Its easy to maneuver over uneven sidewalks, gravel and sand and its not too wide - great for narrow sidewalks or grocery store aisles. The carry cot is perfect for newborns and we are still using it at 2 months. The stroller folds quickly with the release of a button and is relatively light given its size. The only downside is that it does take up trunk space if using the stroller with the carry cot. Love the limited edition pattern and so does our little one.
